It was so nice to have a Disney standard vacation without driving all the way to Orlando. It was a really pleasant change to have a beach vacation without the hectic-ness of the theme parks and the tourists. This weekend vacation was on a complete whim. It was super spontaneous and I paid about $260 per night. They had a Florida resident discount but no pass holder discounts, which was fine by me. I made my reservation the same day for both my weekend stay and dining while I was there. There isn't any valet, this is a self-parking property but it was fine because they had parking near all the rooms no matter which building you're staying at. Upon walking into the lobby, you can immediately tell it has a really tropical vibe. The decorations are vintage and very cute. The customer service is up to Disney standard, my party and I were given 3 first time pins & room keys. It was a warm welcome. They have warnings everywhere about these tiny bugs that come out during that time of year, make sure to get free bug spray from the front lobby when you arrive. This resort Is all about conservation and helping the environment. You can see turtle nests when you're walking down the beach and they have loads of information all over the resort about what they do for the environment. The rooms were large and spacious. They were very clean and room service was on point with us during my stay. The balcony was so beautiful and had a gorgeous view of the beach. The pool was great as well. It was big, has a spot to eat and a bar right next to it so you can walk right over without having to worry about leaving your stuff by the pool. I was a bit worried that there were kids sliding down the slide without anyone watching them or telling one when to go. One of the great things about this resort is the restaurants and they have dole whip! The dole whip doesn't taste as good as it does in the theme parks but it was worth getting. Wind & Waves restaurant was so delicious. Our server was really attentive to my mom's nut allergy. She had the chef come out and explain what my mom couldn't have. We had two appetizers, four entrees and 3 desserts and we only paid $200. We thought it was excellent for the quality and amount of food we got. I liked literally EVERYTHING we ordered. It was incredible. All in all, this is a solid 4 star resort. I would definitely come back for a weekend with the family.
