One of the many dining options at Disney’s Boardwalk, Trattoria Al Forno. Now, I chose this restaurant because it had such amazing reviews! Unfortunately, most of the reviews are for breakfast (which includes character dining) so I didn’t really know what to expect. Either way, I had yet to be disappointed by a Disney restaurant, plus it was getting late and my family was starving. We walked in without reservations, and only had to wait about 10 minutes. They gave us menus so it wasn’t a bad wait at all. This is a typical italian restaurant, the theme matched well & the decor was rather beautiful. The menu is extremely limited, and I had to ask the waiter for the closest thing to spaghetti and meatballs because I didn’t really understand the french menu. (plus, what I did understand, didn’t sound so appealing… Just my opinion!) The bread that they bring prior to your meal is accompanied by olive oil. It was soft, but not the best I’ve had at Disney. It was rather tasteless. I thought it was strange that the waiter brought us two breads but we were a party of 4, I felt that it should’ve been unnecessary to ask him for an extra two breads, but we had to anyway, when we saw he wasn’t going to come back with more for everyone else. The waiter himself did a good job of refilling drinks and making sure we were okay. He told my mom what was allergy friendly, and she ended up getting the traditional spaghetti and meatballs like myself. The spaghetti was rather bland, and spicy at the same time. I’m not sure if this makes sense, or if i’m explaining it right but it just wasn’t good. The meatballs were good, just rather dry. My boyfriend got the lasagna and he hated it. I guess I must’ve missed it on the menu, or it just didn’t state it would be PORK lasagna, (Maybe it was in french) so that was a huge disappointment. Again, it was spicy but bland. I wasn't against the pork lasagna until I tasted it, then I knew what my boyfriend was talking about. My friend got an alcoholic drink and she said it tasted like pure lemon. I’m guessing Mickey Mouse has a different idea of what a tequila shot should be. (issa joke, take it) It was actually disappointing because the food LOOKED so gorgeous and delicious! The taste is unfortunately a different story. All in all, it wasn’t expensive and it was a new experience so I wasn’t upset. But there are definitely better places to eat than here. According to google reviewers, breakfast is the time to be here. I’ll do that next time and keep you guys posted! This restaurant gets 3 stars from me, because I was unsatisfied with the food. Service was great and so was the location & decor. Seems like a family friendly restaurant, but also good for a romantic date. (:
